Tuna Popper Elite Travel Rod

We have designed this rod to be the best small tuna popper you can buy, and we've made it transport friendly.  This rod is built on a rock solid American made blank and a Fuji reel seat.  The reel seat is chosen specific for this blank and does not require a spacer or filler to make it fit properly.  This means the reel seat is in direct contact with the blank.  We use the highest grade epoxy and foam as well as a graphite gimbal but to keep it light.  We top that off with a rubber butt cap to protect boat finishes when you are fighting a monster.  We can make your rod with several guide and decorative wrap choices.  For the guides, we have found that Fuji Alconites or PVD coated Zirconium Alps are an excellent choices for durability against salt water soaked lines.  Silicon Nitride guides are a little harder, lighter and slicker and is another excellent choice though a bit more expensive.  We generally do not recommend Silicon Carbide rings due to the brittleness.  Although not an often occurrence, dropping a rod while pulling a tuna aboard can shatter the rings.
